Woke up at 2am to go to the washroom... well, washground. Looked up at the night sky and found millions of stars. Wow, I've never seen them twinkling like this, probably the best one in my life... oh, a shooting star! It disappeared in 0.3 seconds.
夜中に目が覚める。厠へ行くべくテントを出た。
夜空を見上げると、無数の星が瞬いている。今までの人生で、たぶん一番だ。
へぇ、これを見られただけでも、ここに来た甲斐はあったのかな… うおっ、流れ星だ！
コンマ3秒ほどで消えてしまったので、願いごとは唱えられなかった。
…時間があったとして何をお願いすべきだったのかは、未だに分からない。
Got to sleep and woke up again with the sun.
太陽と共に改めて起床。
Went to CO-OP which just closed when I arrived there yesterday. A woman staff asked me "How are you doing?" so I answered that I was awesome, not really though. Used the washroom to get water and wiped my body off. Okay, I gotta buy something... "Do you want to take a shower?" the staff offered. ...Pardon me? I couldn't understand the meaning, is there a shower? "You're biking, right? There is a shower room, so you can use it for free, if you want" Oh my goodness, seriously? That's amazing, thank you!
きのう入れなかったスーパーへ行くと、女性店員さんに「ハウアーユー？」と聞かれた。
最高だぜ、と答える。そうでもなかったのだが。
ドラマの「グリー」に出てくるハツラツとしたおばちゃんに似てるな、と思った。ちゃんと観たことないけど。
トイレで水を汲み、体を拭く。さて買い物を…
「シャワー浴びるかい？」
さっきのおばちゃんだ。
…ふえ？いま何て？
「自転車で旅してるんだろう？シャワールームがあるから、良かったら使いなよ」

The last time I took a shower is in Saskatoon. I'm in seventh heaven now... I savored the taste of it. Perfect, now I can be in good shape without taking a shower for a week! You know, my way of thinking must have changed to the wrong way.
最後にシャワーを浴びたのはいつだ、サスカトゥーンだ。じっくりと味わおう。
これでまた一週間シャワーなしでも大丈夫だな、と思えてしまう自分が怖い。

夜半に見た満天の星空、そしてイヴォンとの出逢いがあったことで、
この街に滞在したのは正解だったなと思えた。
昨日は死にたくなるくらい落ち込んでたってのに、現金なものである。
At a park. Yvonne gave me a lot! I got enough calories from these. The Elk Pepperette at the lower right was given by other woman staff. She said "awesome" several times while we were talking in front of the store, and it made me pretty happy. Thank you, girl!
公園で広げてみる。こんなにもらってしまった。めっちゃ嬉しい。
右下のエルク肉とやらは、別のお姉ちゃんがくれた。
店先で話してるとき、しきりと「すごいわ」と言ってくれ、これにもまた元気をもらう。

This town is named starbuck, however I didn't find Starbucks Coffee. Hmm, they should have one here, shouldn't they? I took a break on the bench and had a banana, a mandarin orange and an apple which are from Yvonne. Fresh fruits, great.
道すがら、スターバックという小さい街が。しかしスターバックススターバック店は存在しないようだ。
ここには出店すべきなんじゃないのか。

One thing has been annoying me recently. It's... insects. Whenever I stop to take a break or bike slowly, mosquitoes and small black flies fly around me... They don't "kiss" me since I use bug spray, however they seem to try finding a place on my skin.
ところで、マニトバ州に入る前後あたりから、悩みの種がひとつ増えた。

休憩しようと立ち止まると、蚊やら小バエやらがすぐに集まってくる。
走っているときでさえ、ちょっとスピードが緩まるや否や、頭の周りを旋回してきやがるのだ。
虫よけスプレーを使えば肌にひっ付いては来ないのだが、

で、この日は大都市ウィニペグに到着。
ウィニー・ザ・プー、通称クマのプー太郎が生誕した地だ。
どっかで見かけたら、リラックマと日加交流させよう。

Hid in at McDonald's and had McFleurie to get chill. Yum.
マックに避難し、暑いのでマックフルーリーで涼む。甘い。

案の定、通り雨が降り出した。
Did grocery shopping after staying here for a few hours, and was going to the next town which is just about 15km away... but it started squall again and was getting dark while taking shelter from the rain, thus decided to stay in Winnipeg.
長居しているうちに雨も上がったので、買い物をする。
さて近くの隣町まで行こうか、と思ったところで、またも雨が降り出した。
雨宿りをしているうちに薄暗くなってきてしまったし、今夜はウィニペグに滞在するか。
However unfortunately, finding a place to sleep didn't go easy in like this big city... because there are people, or they notice me easily anywhere; schools, churches, parks... nowhere was really good enough and the sky had already gotten dark. Hmm, should I stay at McDonald's through the all night again? Then, I remembered that I'd seen one place where no one visit at night.
しかし、大都市での寝床探しは難しい。どこへ行っても人がいるか、気付かれやすいからだ。
学校・教会・公園… アテが全て外れ、空はすっかり暗くなってしまった。
これは参ったな、またマックに一晩留まるか… と途方に暮れかけたところで、 思い出した。
一ヶ所だけ、夜間に誰も来ない場所を見かけたんだった。
Behind a building in... cemetery. Nobody wants to come at midnight, do they? I put a mat under the roof and just got to sleep. You may think it's creepy, but I don't mind, honestly it was fun! You know, my way of thinking must have changed to the wrong way.
はい、墓場ですね。でも日本のみたいなおどろおどろしさは無い。
寧ろオシャレだし、全然いける。寧ろオススメ。
面倒なのでテントも張らず、事務所裏にマットを敷き、そのまま寝た。
うむ、間違ったベクトルへ向かって逞しくなっている気がするぞ。
