Twin girls are coming to my tent. A watering can is in their hands. Angel smiled sisters start water torture me in a sleeping bag... Aaargh! ...drat, just a dream... What the hell is that kind of dream? Murmuring and getting out of the tent. Oh my, it's cold. I wanted to make coffee, however water in bottles were frozen... no wonder it is damn cold. Gave up hot bevarage, and had bread which I'd gotten for half price yesterday. Again got out of the tent and found a car parked in a ground. Crap, I thought it would around 8am if someone comes to work here, but they are 1 hour earlier than it... I understand that I should get up and get to sleep with the sun.

どういう悪夢なんだそれはと苦笑いを浮かべながら、テントを出る。寒い。
コーヒーでも淹れようとボトルに手を伸ばすが、水が完全に凍っていた。寒いわけだ。
ホット飲料は諦めて我が家に戻り、きのう半額でゲットしたパンを食べる。
撤収しようと思いテントを出たら、おや、グラウンドに車が停まっている…
誰か作業に来るとしても8時くらいだろうと踏んでいたのに、一時間も早い。
やはりお日様と一緒に行動しないとダメだなと学んだ。
To Tim Hortons to get a cup of coffee and Wi-Fi. While I was putting my laptop into a bag, a man asked me "Are you travelling by bicycle?" Al was watching me packing stuff and though he had to talk to me. He looked pretty surprised when I said, yes I'm cycling across Canada, "Are you serious?" Haha, I am! "Camping?" Yes, this is my tent, and this one is a sleeping bag. "Have you met bad people?" No, so far, thankfully. "Do you cook?" I do, I've got a small stove, so... Then he talked to a woman getting out of the shop, she must be his wife. Shamim offered me "Can I buy a cup of coffee?" Really? That would be great, thank you!
コーヒーとWi-Fiを手に入れるべく、街のティムホートンへ。初めてダボダボというやつで頼んでみた。
ダブル＆ダブル、砂糖とミルクを倍量入れて、ということだ。甘くてうまい。
店を出てラップトップをバッグに押し込んでいると、
「自転車で旅をしてるのかい？」
おじさんに話しかけられた。
アルと名乗った彼は、荷物満載の自転車を見て話しかけなきゃと思ったらしい。
カナダ横断です。
「えー、正気かい」
もちろんですとも。
「キャンプしてるの？」
えぇ、これがテントで、こっちが寝袋です。
「悪い輩に絡まれたりは？」
今のところ、無いですね。
「食事は？料理するのかい」
小さいストーブがあるので、それで。
興味津々だ。
と、アルは店から出てきた女性に話しかけた。奥さんだろう。
僕の旅行のことを知った彼女、シャミームは、
「コーヒーでも奢らせてちょうだい」と言う。
こういうとき、ヘタに断るのは逆に失礼だ。
いいんですか、ごちそうになります！
厚意はありがたく受け取る。

「息子がいるからね、応援したいのよ」
母親の顔を思い出した。
「恐いと感じたりしない？」
正直… 興奮しますね！
肩をバシリと叩かれた。

Okay, time to go. Today, I am going to Drumheller which Nick recommended. It seems there are dinosaur bones found in this town. That's interesting.

今日は、ニックがオススメしていたドラムヘラーという街を目指す。
何でも、ここでは恐竜が発掘されたらしい。楽しみだ。

Little gentle slope, but almost flat. This is what I've been craving to meet. Biking about 35km this road, smooth!

Having the doughnut and the muffin Shamim bought for me, in a park. Yum yum.
公園へ入り、シャミームが買ってくれたドーナツとマフィンをいただく。うまい。
After that, Beiseker, also small town. Sounds like bicycle, huh?
その後、バイセコーという街にも寄ってみる。
イリカナと似てるかな。どうかな、そうでもないかな。
Found a sign saying "Detour ahead" Umm, I forgot the meaning of it... kept biking, then...
途中、この先にディートアがあるよ、という置き看板を発見する。
ディートアって何だったっけ、と考えながら走っていくと…
Ah okay, detour. 3km, huh...
うげー、回り道か。3kmも迂回しなきゃダメすか。
Substitute. Son of a... gravel road... I tried to bike for a few hundred meters, but barely went ahead. This is impossible, furthermore there are uphills, man. what should I do? ...wait, vehicles cannot go, but what about bicycles? Sink or sank, give it a try. I headed to a railroad crossing which construction is in progress. "I was watching you, and hoped you were coming this way!" one of workers told me. "Just don't step on the oil" he said and lifted up my bicycle together. Phew, easy. Shouldn't swallow information...
で、その補完路がこいつ。砂利道じゃんか…
数百メートル頑張ってみたが、タイヤを取られてどうしようもない。
自転車で砂利ロードを走るなんてのは不可能だ。しかもこの先、上りになってるし。
さてどうしたもんかね… と立ち止まっていて、ふと思った。
いや待てよ、自動車は通れない道でも、自転車ならオッケーなんじゃないのか。
現に生身の人間が作業しているわけだし。
物は試しだ。来た道を戻り、工事中の踏切へ向かう。
「見てたんだよ、こっちに来ないかなーと思ってね」と現場のおじさん。
そこのオイルだけ踏まないように、と言って一緒に自転車を持ち上げる。
すんなりだ、骨折り損するところだった。情報を鵜呑みにしてはいけない…
This is funny. Bircham sounds like a Japanese word "ba-chan" which means "grandma" when you call them really frankly.

Gotta find a place to stay tonight. I was going around green colored areas on my map which are parks or baseball grounds, but unfortunately, they are too open so that I can be found easily... oh, how about here? A supermarket lying on the kinda outskirts. The opening time is 8am to 9pm, means there must be nobody around 10pm. Let's go grocery shopping and A&W to sip hot chocolate, and then come back.
さて、野営場所を見付けなくちゃ。
地図で緑色になっているところ、つまり公園とか球場とかを当たってみるが、どこも人目についてしまう…
で見付けたのが、町外れのスーパーの脇。
営業時間が8時~21時だから、22時頃に来れば誰もいないかしら。
買い物をして、A&Wでホットチョコレートを啜ろう。
Someone may come around 6am, so I should leave by then tomorrow morning... It's pretty late to cook, I just get into the sleeping bag.
朝6時くらいには誰か来るだろうか。それまでに撤収したいところだな…
もう遅いし面倒くさくなったので、夕飯も作らず寝袋に入った。
